Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District’s Shoreline Storage Tunnel
A breakthrough on the CSO storage tunnel serving the Lake Erie shoreline, with commissioning on track.
The Shoreline Storage Tunnel reached a significant milestone this month as the TBM broke through at the eastern shaft.
The 3.5-mile tunnel will capture and store combined sewer overflows before they reach Lake Erie, treating a peak flow of more than 200 million gallons per day. Our teams provided tunnel design, shaft engineering and ongoing construction management through a ground model that handled a variable glacial till profile.
